Here are a few tips to make sure your musical meeting goes well:. Do a trial run first. If you’ve never shared audio, you’ll need to install a special audio driver.

Consider trying it out in a test session before using it for real because you don’t want to be dealing with drivers during a call. It only takes a minute or two, but it’ll be awkward. Check volume levels. Sometimes people will have trouble hearing the music or hearing each other over the music. It’s hard to tell this is happening, as the host, so be intentional about it: ask someone else on the call if they can hear both you and the music.

You can adjust the volume in your music app or using your system volume until things are just right. Consider using headphones. Your microphone can pick up on the music you’re playing. Zoom is pretty good about filtering it out, but occasionally people might hear a weird echo. The simplest way to prevent this is by wearing headphones. Done with the music? You can stop sharing your computer’s audio by clicking the red Stop Share button at the top of your Zoom window.

How to have sound in zoom meeting

If not, there are a few more fixes to try. You need to configure the sound settings on your computer properly before Zoom can access your speaker and microphone. An out-of-date operating system might trigger various weird issues including Zoom sound not working. For better performance and stability of Windows, make sure you check for the updates regularly. Once done, restart your computer for the changes to take full effect, and you should be hearing the sound on Zoom normally. It does not mute your mic, so you can speak and play music at the same time.

Go to whatever music playing app or website you wish to use and choose your music. If the music is still too loud, go to your device settings and change your microphone options to increase the volume. To ensure clear and consistent sound, we advise using a good quality microphone if possible so that your lovely voice can be picked up clearly.

It can be advised to use headphones too when instructing and playing music, so that the music that’s playing doesn’t get picked up by your microphone.

If after troubleshooting your audio on your computer you still can’t get it to work, the phone audio option is a great alternative. In the Zoom window on your computer, select the caret next to the speaker. Select the Phone Call tab and follow the instructions to call into the meeting call one of the numbers listed, then enter your meeting ID and then your participant ID. If you don’t see the phone call option, it’s because the host doesn’t have the correct paid account level or the audio plan add-on to enable that, or they might not have allowed participants to join by telephone.
